  With the Economic Heart of God

  @Etcetera and I were talking tonight about the importance of WITH: doing life, pushing mission, and solving big problems with God.

  I shared how John 15:1-11 says the heart of life with God (abiding) is keeping Yeshua’s and the Fathers commands out of love (v. 10). This is the heart of the Gospel of the Kingdom and true faith (Mark 1:15).

  So if we want to do anything with God in the area of economics, we need to understand the Father and Son’s commands about economics.

  A good example is the Jubilee laws in Leviticus 25:8-24. This passage shows us the following things about our Father’s heart:

  1. Liberty is tied to access to the means of production (v 10)
  2. The means of production should be available to each generation (49 years would mean no dispossession of the second generation after the sale.)
  3. Tolerating families being separated from wealth — that is the means of production — is wronging each other (v 13-14)
  4. Pricing is based on access to productivity (v 17)
  5. God views the ownership of production through the lens of stewardship (v 23)
