    The Barberry Project

We’ve been thinking about alt-economies related to environmental restoration. One idea was harvesting barberry which as herbal/medicinal applications. The problem is the labor involved in harvesting the roots from the bush is very high. To that end, we’re thinking about equipment as a force multiplier. Here are some of the ideas we need to run in a business model:

Brush Grubber Post/Tree Puller $800 (this does not seem to be hydraulic)

Titan Attachments Post and Tree Puller $1050 (this is hydraulic)

I said it would be great to use an all-electric skid steer: Full Battery has a 80HP for $15k. (Vs Elise 900 $60k-$80k Bobcat T7X for $200k-300k)

As I was looking at listings, I was wondering if a remote-driven version would be better. See Rockeat 700 ($60k-$85k) and MiniZ ($40k used).

The big question is what economy of scale would be required to make these investments pay?

I would like to note that the electric skid steer shown costs a great deal more than 15K. That 15K is a 20% deposit.
