Envisioning Leadership Structure for Alternate Societies
Today as @Etcetera and I were reviewing our time with the leaders of Awakened Village in NJ and talked about action points, it came up that leadership structure is essential for the community that would drive alt society solutions (which we are pursuing as a contextualization of the Kingdom of God). At Awakened Village, we’re starting to look into the potential of using holacracy as our framework for leadership.
I’d love to dive into more of the “Why” we’re looking into this, but first, I think it would be helpful to have a little background.

My Notes of Holacracy:
Holacracy is a system that operates on the fundamental idea that situation reports and requests fro resources flow upwards through the chain of command and objectives flow downwards. This decentralization of command allows for each level of management to determine how to best use their resources to respond to a given problem and adapt their solutions much faster as they don’t need to seek approval from every level of the command chain above them.
However Holacracy is not without flaws.
1. It requires competency in leaders at every level of the decision making structure. (Which is something you would want anyway.)
2. The language use in the constitution found on the Holacracy website is confusing.
Verdict: Holacracy, like most other forms of governance, should be tailored to suit your own needs.
