My son and I started this group to capture some of our conversations about mission and stewardship in spaces we’re interested in: namely intersection of the construction and the housing crisis, local economics, and sustainable ecology. As I thought about what to call the group, the Greek word oikos came to mind which means “household” and gives us the “eco-” prefix in eco-logy and eco-nomics.

ECO — that really is THE big stewardship issue right now: how can we dwell in a way that stewards all dwellings — our own, those of our neighbors, those of all creatures — in a way that brings peace and glorifies God? What would solutions to the housing crisis that take this into consideration look like? How can we hack current economics so solutions more from drawing tables to build sites? How can our projects be signs to others of a possible different future?
