      Disciplines

Holiness is not what they think.

The World is deeply suspicious of Christians’ talk of “holiness”. That’s because it sounds to them like “exclusivity” and “superiority”. More judgementalism and selfishness! A holy God who wants EVERYONE to join him cannot be exclusive, nor is he trying to remain superior. But holiness does mean “seperate”. That’s just basic laws of physics: like a archer selecting an arrow or a craftswan a piece of wood, to set anything in motion with a purpose, it must be seperated from its frame of reference. To be accurate and durable — to fly true or not rot — it must be completely free of all that would contaminate its journey. That’s holiness!
