I see this reality at work in Acts 16. From repeated holy disruption came the first church in Europe, hosted and advanced by praying women, a force for unity, generosity, and mission — fruit no man would imagine and no man-work could achieve. From this we have Philippians which says “I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ (v 1:6).”

Thank you, Ben. Acts 16 is an excellent example. One nuance that especially gripped me while writing was that God’s purpose wasn’t rescued by the interruptions – it was never threatened by them. The interruptions themselves were already within His settled counsel (ʿetsah). That’s what has been ministering so deeply to me.
