Props to dpjecon from @MagFamily who saved a Common Snapping Turtle crossing the road today. It wasn’t as big as the one pictured. Only 7-8 inches, which means it’s likely pretty young. Blessings on your journey little fella!

God made snapping turtles to be very versatile eaters: they eat meat, vegetation, and carrion. They grow to be the largest reptiles in New York State, reaching up to 70 lbs.
