Why do people pray? I was wondering specifically how many people pray to align themselves to God’s will vs how many people pray to change their situation. Both are valid — one is intercessory prayer, the other is supplication. However, only supplication seems to get quantified. Apparently 67% of people pray regularly, and of prayers, 82% pray for loved ones, 77% talk to God about their problems, and 36% pray about their future prosperity. Talking to God about his will doesn’t seem to be part of the survey questions.
